The 'shi jin' (市斤) is a commonly used unit of weight in mainland China and differs from the 'jin' (斤) and 'liang' (兩) commonly used in Hong Kong. It's crucial not to confuse them. More accurate conversions are as follows:

Conversion using Mainland Chinese units
1 shi jin = 10 shi liang = 500 grams = approximately 13.22 liang (Hong Kong)
1 shi liang = 50 grams = approximately 1.32 liang (Hong Kong)
1 pound = approximately 9 shi liang = 12 liang (Hong Kong)
Conversion using Hong Kong units
1 jin = 16 liang = 605 grams
1 liang = 37.8 grams
1 pound = 12 liang = 453.6 grams
